The Roaming Root Cellar is a one-of-a-kind store, which I love. Not only can I find locally grown produce, bakery items, meat, fish, dairy, Alaska produced ceramics, interior decor, infant and children’s items, and specialty gifts and clothing but super friendly customer service always. It’s a business I frequently stop and shop at. Although the business had been closer to my neighborhood in University West, I nevertheless make the effort to drive over to College Road.

I love this place! Farm fresh groceries, Alaskan-made products, and I can always find an artistic treasure in the gift shop side. I love to take visitors there to get a REAL Alaskan souvenir to take home.

Love that they try to sell local items AND…. If you want gross and EXPENSIVE produce, this is the place. I understand not accepting food returns but when a customer reports poor quality and NOTHING is done to rectify the situation, I have a hard time wanting to support such business practices. Extremely frustrating and sad when groceries are already expensive. Upcharging massively - $7 for slimy chemical carrots! THAT MY DOG WON’T EVEN TOUCH.

One of my favorite local shops! I come here very often for gifts for friends and family out of state, and there is always such a wide variety of Alaskan treats, goods, and crafts. I am also a newsletter subscriber and love getting the shop updates, especially on food offerings and events taking place. Highly recommend Roaming Root Cellar!
